Persistent insect bite reaction

**Definition:** Bite reactions lasting for months as inflamed papules and nodules, this is particularly likely to be seen with tick bites and mosquito bites. These may be confused with lymphoma histologically, with a dense inflammatory infiltrate of lymphoid cells, histiocytes, eosinophils and plasma cells together with the presence of atypical mononuclear cells.
