Infection of vertebra
**Definition:** A condition of the vertebrae, caused by an infection with a bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic source. This condition commonly presents with fever, chills, headache, weight loss, or may be asymptomatic. Confirmation is by identification of the infectious agent in a blood sample, or radiographic tests.
