**Definition:** This is a pathological separation or tearing of muscle fibres from other muscle fibres, tendons or fascia

**Long definition:** The pathological separation or tearing of muscle fibers from other muscle fibers, tendons or fascia. The most common of which is diastasis recti which can occur in pregnant women and also in infants.
