Tuboovarian abscess

**Definition:** End-stage process of acute pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), marked by pelvic mass palpable during bimanual examination. Usually bilateral but can be unilateral.

**Exclusions:** - Abscess of fallopian tube - Abscess of ovary
