Hypertrophic elongation of cervix uteri

**Definition:** A condition of the cervix uteri, caused by uterine prolapse. This condition is characterised by hypertrophy, hyperplasia, elongation or strain to the vaginal or supravaginal parts of the cervix uteri. This condition may also present with dyspareunia or infertility. Confirmation is by pelvic examination to differentiate between vaginal or supravaginal elongation.
