Salpingitis isthmica nodosa

**Definition:** A condition of the fallopian tube caused by infection or inflammation. This condition is characterised by bilateral, nodular thickening of the isthmic and proximal ampullary tunica muscularis. This condition may also present with infertility or ectopic pregnancy. Confirmation is by imaging.
