Ulcerative or erosive disorders of the vulva

**Definition:** Vulval aphthae are vulval ulcers not attributable to infection or other identifiable cause. They typically occur on the medial aspects of the labia minora in young females (second decade of life). They may be associated with fever and malaise or with oral aphthae.
