Encysted hydrocele

**Definition:** A condition of the testis, caused by inflammation or testicular epididymis, obstruction to the venous or lymphatic systems through the cord, or an abnormality during the antenatal period. This condition is characterised by a circumscribed accumulation of fluid in the tunica vaginalis testis or along the spermatic cord.
