Rupture of uterus before onset of labour
**Definition:** An injury characterised by rupture of the myometrial wall of the uterus before the onset of labour. This injury is caused by pregnancy. This injury presents with abdominal pain, haemorrhage, or hypovolemic shock in the mother, or late decelerations, reduced variability, tachycardia, or bradycardia in the fetus.
