Cardiomyopathy in the puerperium
**Definition:** A group of diseases in which the dominant feature is the involvement of the cardiac muscle itself occurring in puerperium, the period of 6-8 weeks after giving birth. Cardiomyopathies are classified according to their predominant pathophysiological features or their etiological/pathological factors.
