Death from sequelae of direct obstetric cause
**Definition:** Any condition directly resulting in death due to a pathological condition resulting from any adverse evolution (complication) which may arise associated with the period of time from conception to delivery (pregnancy), during labour and delivery (childbirth) or during the approximately six weeks after delivery during which the uterus returns to the original size (puerperium).
