Death from sequelae of indirect obstetric cause

**Definition:** Any condition resulting in death via an intermediate cause due to a pathological condition resulting from any adverse evolution (complication) which may arise associated with the period of time from conception to delivery (pregnancy), during labour and delivery (childbirth) or during the approximately six weeks after delivery during which the uterus returns to the original size (puerperium).
