Fetus or newborn affected by polyhydramnios

**Definition:** Polyhydramnios is defined as an abnormally large volume of amniotic fluid within the uterus. An amount of 2 litres at term, any single pool >8cm or an amniotic fluid index (AFI) > 24 cm is considered to be polyhydramnios.
