Neonatal aspergillosis

**Definition:** A disease affecting neonates, caused by an infection with the fungi Aspergillus. This disease presents with clinical symptoms depending on the site of infection. Transmission is by inhalation of Aspergillus spores, or direct contact. Confirmation is by identification of Aspergillus from affected sites.
