Obstructive neonatal apnoea
**Definition:** Apnoea that occurs secondary to diminished airway airflow from an obstruction in the airway from the nose and mouth, tongue, hypopharynx, epiglottis, vocal cords or subglottic region. This is characterised by initial increased work of breathing and rapid progression to cyanosis.
