Short bowel syndrome in neonate
**Definition:** Short bowel syndrome in neonate is a condition originating in the perinatal period in which nutrients are not properly absorbed due to either surgical removal of a large portion of the small intestine or rarely due to the complete dysfunction of a large segment of small intestine.
