**Definition:** Exposure to tobacco smoke in the perinatal period, both directly or through second hand smoke, can lead to: low birth weight, preterm delivery, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS or cot death), spontaneous abortion, or intrauterine growth retardation.
**Exclusions:** - Fetus or newborn affected by maternal use of tobacco
