Smooth contracted kidney
**Definition:** A condition of the kidney, caused by an overgrowth of abnormal fibrous tissue and ischaemic atrophy. This condition is characterised by a small, granular, and smooth kidney.
**Exclusions:** - contracted kidney due to hypertension - diffuse sclerosing glomerulonephritis - hypertensive nephrosclerosis (arteriolar)(arteriosclerotic) - Small kidney
