**Definition:** An embolisation without documented injury or harm occurs when a solid object within the venous or arterial circulation propagates to a distal location and becomes lodged there.

**Long definition:** The solid object could include a foreign body, such as a piece of equipment used to perform the surgery, or could include a piece of tissue dislodged during the procedure (such as atheroma or thrombus).
