Investments in Associates
IAS 28 sets out the accounting for investments in associates, defining an associate as an entity over which the investor has significant influence but not control or joint control. It requires the equity method, with the investment initially recognized at cost and subsequently adjusted for the investor's share of the associate's profit or loss, other comprehensive income and dividends received.
