World History

In the Library of Congress Classification the single-letter class D is assigned to world history, covering all periods from prehistoric times to the present. It includes general surveys, thematic studies, chronologies and comparative works, and is further divided into subclasses that focus on specific eras, regions, archaeology and historiography.
