QR is the Library of Congress Classification subclass for microbiology, encompassing the study of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae and protozoa. It includes works on microbial genetics, physiology, pathology, immunology, virology, industrial and environmental applications, as well as methods of isolation, cultivation and identification.
