The NCM Sections are the highest-level groupings within the Mercosur Common External Tariff, aligning the regional Nomenclatura Comum do Mercosul with the Harmonized System's 21 broad categories of goods. They organize products into sections such as "Animal products," "Chemicals," and "Machinery," facilitating customs duties, trade statistics, and regulatory oversight across Mercosur member states.
