PAX3 Transcription Factor

**Definition:** A paired box transcription factor that functions in CELL PROLIFERATION; CELL MIGRATION; and APOPTOSIS. It also is involved in MYOGENESIS and neural development. Mutations in the PAX3 gene are associated with WAARDENBURG SYNDROME TYPE 1.
