Jagged-1 Protein

**Definition:** A serrate-jagged protein that functions as a ligand for NOTCH RECEPTORS. It may regulate CELL DIFFERENTIATION in HEMATOPOIESIS and PHYSIOLOGIC ANGIOGENESIS. Mutations in the Jagged-1 gene are associated with ALAGILLE SYNDROME 1.
