**Definition:** A subset of T-lymphocytes that are present in large numbers at MUCOUS MEMBRANES and respond to INFECTIONS. They express a conserved invariant T-CELL RECEPTOR ALPHA-CHAIN that enables them to respond to infections by sensing RIBOFLAVIN metabolites of pathogens.
