**Definition:** A GPI-linked membrane glycoprotein and antiviral factor that functions as a homodimer. It is induced by INTERFERON-GAMMA and blocks the release of enveloped mammalian viruses by directly tethering nascent VIRAL PARTICLES to the membranes of infected cells.
