Ringer's Solution

**Definition:** An isotonic solution; the base contains SODIUM CHLORIDE; POTASSIUM CHLORIDE; and CALCIUM CHLORIDE. Other chemicals, such as SODIUM BICARBONATE or acetate salts may be added, as needed for pH buffering, or as an energy source.
