**Definition:** A nuclear protein, characterized by multiple LXXLL motifs, that modulates activation of gene transcription by STEROID RECEPTORS, and transcriptional repression by NUCLEAR HORMONE RECEPTORS. It positively regulates gene expression of CIRCADIAN CLOCK PROTEINS AND PEPTIDES, including ARNTL TRANSCRIPTION FACTORS and CRYPTOCHROMES.
