Midkine

**Definition:** A developmentally regulated, HEPARIN-binding secreted growth factor homologous to pleiotrophin (PTN). It regulates cell proliferation through its interaction with ANAPLASTIC LYMPHOMA KINASE (ALK) and is involved in the formation of NEOINTIMA following arterial injury.
