Araucaria araucana

**Definition:** An evergreen tree commonly known as the monkey-puzzle tree. It grows to 1-1.5 m in diameter and 30-40 m in height, and is native to central and southern Chile, and western Argentina. Araucaria araucana is the hardiest among the conifers, and due to its longevity, is often described as a living fossil.
