**Definition:** A genus of fungi in the family Leptosphaeriaceae, order Pleosporales and phylum ASCOMYCOTA. Leptosphaeria fungi are filamentous ascomycetes mostly found in soil and rarely associated with opportunistic MYCETOMA.
