**Definition:** A state of elevated excitement with over-activity sometimes accompanied with psychotic symptoms (e.g., PSYCHOMOTOR AGITATION, inflated SELF ESTEEM and flight of ideas). It is often associated with mental disorders (e.g., CYCLOTHYMIC DISORDER; and BIPOLAR DISEASES).
