Oxygen Saturation

**Definition:** Extent to which HEMOGLOBIN is saturated with OXYGEN typically as measured in arterial blood. It can be measured by various methods (e.g., PULSE OXYMETER, blood gas analysis). A low blood oxygen saturation level indicates a condition called HYPOXEMIA.
