Immunological Memory Cells

**Definition:** Antigen-specific immunologic cells which have a potential to form IMMUNOLOGIC MEMORY providing a rapid and robust response against a second encounter with the same antigen. Immunologic memory cells typically include B-Lymphocytes T-Lymphocytes and sometimes adaptive NK cells. Building immunologic memory cells is a basis of how a vaccine affords immunity to a specific pathogen.
