Corneal Cross-Linking

**Definition:** An ophthalmic treatment used to prevent weakening or bulging of the CORNEA in corneal ECTASIA, e.g., post-LASIK ectasia, KERATOCONUS and pellucid marginal corneal degeneration. It uses UV-A and RIBOFLAVIN to crosslink and strengthen COLLAGEN fibers within the cornea.
