**Definition:** Portal hypertension without known risk factors for hypertension, e.g., HEPATIC CIRRHOSIS and SCHISTOSOMIASIS. Idiopathic Noncirrhotic Portal Hypertension is most often associated with pathology in the PORTAL SYSTEM vasculature.
