Cough-Variant Asthma

**Definition:** Asthma which is characterized by CHRONIC COUGH that is nonproductive without other asthmatic symptoms, e.g., WHEEZING, and PAROXYSMAL DYSPNEA. Cough-variant asthma is accompanied by AIRWAY HYPERSENSITIVITY and may progress to classical asthma without treatment.
