**Definition:** Strategies that cells use to continue DNA replication when replicative DNA polymerases stall at DNA damage-blocked replication forks. These DNA damage tolerant replication mechanisms bypass the DNA DAMAGE, which may be repaired subsequently by various DNA REPAIR mechanisms.
