Ceftaroline

**Definition:** A fifth-generation cephalosporin antibacterial agent that is used to treat skin infections caused by bacteria in adults and newborns. Ceftaroline has a 1,3-thiazolidine ring attached to the C-7 position of its cephalosporin core.
