**Definition:** Surgical removal of devices, including BONE SCREWS, pins, BONE PLATES, and wires used in FRACTURE FIXATION. Hardwares in general refer to non-electrical devices, most often orthopedic, and are removed due to infection, malfunction and to allow proper growth.
