Noggin Protein

**Definition:** A protein that binds to certain BONE MORPHOGENIC PROTEINS to regulate their activity. In Xenopus embryos, this is a dorsalizing factor localized to the SPEMANN ORGANIZER. Mutations in this protein may occur in NOG-RELATED-SYMPHALANGISM SPECTRUM DISORDER.
