**Definition:** A membrane protein that functions in INNATE IMMUNITY and INFLAMMATION through the CGAS-STING SIGNALING PATHWAY. It acts as a sensor of cytosolic DNA from bacteria and viruses and promotes the production of INTERFERON TYPE I.
