**Definition:** A cell adhesion molecule of the immunoglobulin superfamily that is expressed by ENDOTHELIAL CELLS where it functions to stabilize INTERCELLULAR JUNCTIONS. It is also highly expressed by melanoma tumor cells and may facilitate their METASTASIS.
