Pre-MDC (Transplants, ECMO, Tracheostomy)

MDC00 is a pre-MDC grouping in the FY2024 Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Groups used for cases that do not fit a standard major diagnostic category. It captures high-resource services such as organ transplants, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and tracheostomy procedures.
