This allele, which encodes succinate dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] flavoprotein subunit, mitochondrial protein, plays a role in cellular respiration. Mutation of the gene is associated with both mitochondrial complex II deficiency and cardiomyopathy dilated type 1GG.
