Bacteroides faecis

**Definition:** A species of anaerobic, gram-negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Bacteroidetes. This species is non-motile, spore forming, oxidase, urease and catalase negative, indole positive and hydrolyzes esculin. B. faecis was originally isolated from human feces.
