Live-attenuated Listeria monocytogenes-encoding EGFRvIII-NY-ESO-1 Vaccine ADU-623

**Semantic type:** Bacterium|Immunologic Factor|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A live-attenuated, double-deleted strain of the Gram-positive bacterium Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) encoding a mutant form of the tumor associated antigens, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFRvIII) and the cancer/testis antigen NY-ESO-1, with potential immunostimulatory and antineoplastic activities. Upon intravenous administration, live-attenuated Listeria monocytogenes encoding EGFRvIII-NY-ESO-1 vaccine targets dendritic cells and expresses EGFRvIII and NY-ESO-1. This promotes both a potent innate immune response and an adaptive immune response involving the recruitment and activation of T lymphocytes against EGFRvIII and NY-ESO-1-expressing tumor cells, which results in tumor cell lysis.

**Synonyms:** - ADU-623
