Urolithin

**Definition:** Hydroxy-6H-dibenzo[b,d]pyran-6-one derivatives that are the products of the metabolism of ellagitannins by intestinal bacteria. The biological activity of urothilins is unknown; however, these compounds are under investigation to determine if they have a mechanism of action that is similar to other phytoestrogens.
