Itraconazole
**Semantic type:** Organic Chemical|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A synthetic triazole agent with antimycotic properties. Formulated for both topical and systemic use, itraconazole preferentially inhibits fungal cytochrome P450 enzymes, resulting in a decrease in fungal ergosterol synthesis.
